A Mom Defies Odds After Giving Birth To 3 Kids And Only Being 2ft Tall

Stacey Herald is a 36-year-old mom from Dry Ridge, Kentucky who is 2 ft 4 tall and suffers from a genetic health condition known as Osteogenesis Imperfecta. However, she was determined to have three kids no matter the problems she faced because of risky pregnancy.

Osteogenesis Imperfecta is the condition which causes lungs to remain underdeveloped, bones to become brittle and stunts the growth. Stacey said that, “We didn’t plan to have more than two kids, we just think that they’re a great gift to the world, and when I look at them I see [her husband] Will and I feel so full of love, it’s tough not to want more.”

Doctors warned Stacey about the possible consequences which having children may have on her health. She was told that becoming pregnant might crush her lungs and heart because of the condition she is suffering from. However, she decided to go against the odds and ignored the warnings of her family members and doctors.

When Mr. and Mrs. Herald married in 2004, they knew that they wanted a family together and have children. Will, Stacey’s husband is a trainee priest and is 5ft 9in and the couple had their 3rd baby when Stacey was 36.

When Stacey was told by the doctors that it was too risky to have kids with her condition she felt upset, she said that “It broke my heart that I couldn’t have kids.”
