Confirmed: Serena Williams Is Officially A Mother To A Healthy Baby Girl! Read All The Details!

Serena Williams is officially a mother! Just hours after news surfaced that the tennis professional was in labor, reports broke that the beauty had given birth to a precious baby girl.

WPBF-25 producer Chris Shepherd was one of the first to confirm the big news, tweeting: “Tennis star Serena Williams gives birth to a baby girl weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces. Mom and baby doing well.”

Beyonce even posted this congratulatory message on Instagram.

On Friday afternoon, sister Venus Williams confirmed that Serena was in labor just before she took on Maria Sakkari in the third round of the US Open. “Obviously I’m super excited. Words can’t describe,” Venus told a room full of reporters.

Details surrounding Williams’ birth are unclear, but according to reports, the athlete delivered at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL.

According to CBS12, “Williams checked in to the hospital Wednesday and has the entire first floor cleared, no one can get in without going through security.” The report also stated that she was “induced Thursday night.”

Serena has yet to confirm the news, but we are sure she and fiancé Alexis Ohanian are beaming with joy over their new addition.

It’s also worth noting that speculation the couple was having a girl was indeed true. Back in June, Venus accidentally unveiled that her sister was having a girl.

During an interview with Eurosport at the French Open at Roland Garros in Paris, the tennis pro was asked what the baby will call her. Venus’ response was nothing less than the spilling of some major beans.

“She’s going to call me ‘favorite aunt,’” the 36-year-old said. “We’re all like, ‘Baby V, baby Lyn, baby Isha.’ We all want the baby to be named after us.”

Congrats to the family.
