Male politicians in Turkey brawled in parliament twice last week

catch-up-news-turkish-politiciansCatchup News learns today that a physical confrontation between politicians has occurred for the second time in a week in Turkey’s parliament with one escalating with a member falling down a short flight of stairs. Members from the ruling and opposition parties exchanged punches on Friday in a clash over a controversial bill to give police officers more power against protesters. Which is brilliant, as it gives this entire story a fain whiff of irony. In a move that makes Colin Firth and Hugh Grants flurry in a fountain look positively regal, a similar incident occurred last Tuesday evening leaving five people injured and two left with head wounds from a “ceremonial gavel”, according to the Guardian. Gentlemen, go home, you’re drunk. More from Catchup News after we locate that ceremonial gavel.
